Joachim Heinze博士的专题报告——331

报告题目:Redefining Research: The Transformation of Scientific Publishing and Scientific Communication in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

——Bi Sheng (10th century)/Johannes Gutenberg (15th century)

报告人:Joachim Heinze

报告时间:2025331日(星期一)下午16:30-17:30

报告地点:数学大楼912

参加人员:本科生、研究生、教师

报告内容:

1. A short summary will be given of the Bloomberg Article “Artificial Intelligence will upend basic Assumptions about how Businesses are organized” by Azeem Azhar.
2. The workshop will continue with a short video 3 minutes long about “Artificial Intelligence Translation Machines” and speculations  about the future of “human translators” followed by the latest DeepSeek video (less than 1 minute) advertisement on WeChat.
3. The session will conclude with a thought-provoking cartoon that encapsulates the ethical and existential questions surrounding the role of AI in our future.
4.The aim is to engage the audience in a 60-minute interactive exploration and encouraging them to think critically about the profound implications of AI development.
5. By the end of the workshop, I hope participants will have grappled with the unsettling yet vital question: Who will win the “battle” between AI and the human brain?
This question echoes T.S. Eliot’s prescient observation in 1948, which remains strikingly relevant today. Will AI eventually dominate all aspects of life, or can we ensure that human cognition remains a necessary “safety check” on AI’s capabilities?
6. Alternatively, could we imagine a hybrid future - a synthesis of human and artificial intelligence - where individuals are born with neural architectures with large language models (LLMs) such as DeepSeek integrated into their brains?
Such a scenario could represent a fairer and more collaborative future, in line with the ideals of the French Revolution: *All Human are created equal*.
So everybody will get the same start in her/his life but of course of each human being the devlopment will be different.
7. The cartoon's final line, “We can't build an AI more powerful than #4, so we’ll just have to take its word for it!” is a poignant reminder of the ethical and philosophical dilemmas we face. The accompanying Chinese character for “death” (
) underscores the gravity of these considerations, urging us to tread carefully as we navigate the intersection of humanity and artificial intelligence.
This revised approach aims to provoke meaningful discourse, challenging audiences to consider not only the technological possibilities, but also the moral imperatives of AI development.
8. My personal summary of the Bloomberg article which is an essential basis for the WS  is short: Can the existing LLMs achieve these following skills?
(1) Creativity, Innovative Thinking, Creating NEW Questions/Problems;
(2) Cross-field Thinking, Interdisciplinary, Integrating different Views;
(3) Emotional Intelligence, Cultural Understanding.
