报告摘要：Community detection refers to the problem of clustering the nodes  of a network into groups. Testing the existence of community structure in a network is a fundamental problem. Existing methods are developed for unweighted networks. However, many practical networks are weighted. In this talk, I will introduce an information theoretical limit for testing existence of community structure in weighted networks, and present two practical tests.

报告人简介：袁敏高副教授，2009年本科毕业于暨南大学，2012年硕士毕业于重庆理工大学，2018年博士毕业于Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. 现为北达科达州立大学终身教授。从事统计学研究。在Annals of Statistics, Bernoulli, Statistica Sinica等杂志发表论文20余篇。
